Records broken by Vaibhav Suryavanshi after hitting historical century

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made history as the youngest player, at just 14 years and 32 days, to achieve a century in T20 cricket and the IPL, surpassing the previous record set by Vijay Zol. He reached his half-century in a remarkable 17 balls, marking the fastest in IPL 2025, the second fastest for Rajasthan Royals, and the quickest ever against Gujarat Titans.

Additionally, Suryavanshi hit 11 sixes, matching Murali Vijay’s record for the most sixes by an Indian in a single IPL match, and setting a new record for Rajasthan Royals in an IPL inning.

His century, scored in 35 balls, is now the second-fastest in IPL history, trailing only Chris Gayle’s 30-ball century for RCB in 2013, and it stands as the fastest for Rajasthan Royals.

He also formed a 166-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, the highest ever for the franchise. This innings marks the earliest instance of an Indian batter scoring an IPL century, surpassing the previous record held by Manish Pandey, Paul Valthaty, and Priyansh Arya, each with four centuries.

Furthermore, he achieved the highest boundary percentage in an IPL century at 93%. At the time of reaching his half-century, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played 38% false shots, with only Ryan Rickelton having a higher error rate among the 96 scores of 50 or more this season, at 44.1% against KKR at Wankhede.
