Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal's Centuries Propel India to Historic Victory

Smriti Mandhana’s performance was nothing short of spectacular! She smashed the fastest ODI hundred by an Indian female cricketer, reaching the milestone in just 70 balls. Her innings of 135 runs, along with Pratika Rawal’s 154, helped India women post a record-breaking total of 435/5 against Ireland women in Rajkot. This is the highest-ever total in Indian cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 418/5 set by the Indian men’s team against West Indies in 2011.

Mandhana’s century is the joint-seventh fastest in women’s ODI history, equaling former England cricketer Charlotte Edwards’ effort from 2012. With her 10th ODI hundred, Mandhana is now joint third on the all-time list of most centuries in women’s ODIs, alongside England’s Tammy Beaumont. The list is led by former Australia captain Meg Lanning with 15 centuries, followed by New Zealand’s Suzie Bates with 13.

India women have now recorded their first-ever 400-plus total in the 50-over format, joining New Zealand and Australia as the only teams to have achieved this feat in women’s ODIs. The partnership between Mandhana and Rawal for the opening wicket was a remarkable 233 runs.
