With Pakistan set to host the Champions Trophy in 2025, the discussion among fans is of whether arch-rival India would travel to Pakistan to compete in the tournament.
While India last toured Pakistan in 2005-06, the Men in Green last competed in India in 2012-13. Since then, the bilateral matches have stopped due to political issues. However, they continue to play in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup.
Now, with Pakistan hosting an ICC event, it is going to be interesting to see the stance of the BCCI and the Indian government.
PCB head Raja feels that it will not be easy for India to pull out of the Champions Trophy as teams are under a lot of pressure.
“When it comes to international tournaments, pulling out isn’t as easy as you are under a lot of pressure. When countries are given hosting rights for these tournaments, all of these things are discussed in advance. I don’t think it will happen (India pulling out of Asia Cup)”.
