MI vs RCB Match 25

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) locked horns with each other in the 25th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The game between the two teams took place on Thursday (11th April) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians are well and truly back in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. After facing three consecutive losses, the Hardik Pandya-led side registered their second win of the season. They thumped Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 7 wickets to bag important two points.

MI on the top from start

Mumbai Indians won the toss and as we know how new ball helps the bowling team specially in the first innings at this ground, it was kind of expected from them to ask RCB to bat first. RCB set up what would be a competitive score any other day, but their bowlers just had no chance today, as the entirety of MI’s batting order went berserk, striking away at will to wrap up the game with ease.

MI’s bowlers used the conditions brilliantly where Jasprit Bumrah once again ripped through RCB’s main batting lineup. Still partnership between Du plessis and Patidar of 82Runs and DK’s Death over yet another quick fire of 53 off 23 balls assisted RCB in posting a good Total of 196Runs with the loss of 8 Wickets.

Mumbai Indians went on a Rampage

There’s something called a powerful start, a solid start and then there’s something called a brutal carnage! Mumbai Openers – Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma – spared no RCB bowlers as they slammed big shots all over Wankhede. For the first wicket stand, Sharma and Kishan put together a century. This has put the hosts in a very comfortable position. Kishan slammed 69 off 34 balls. This knock included seven boundaries and five maximums. It was well after the 100-run partnership that RCB’s Akash Deep got the breakthrough wicket of Ishan Kishan. But this wasn’t enough to put pressure on MI.
Surya kept up the tempo and played a fiery 360° knock of 52 in 19 balls which completely destroyed whatever hope RCB had left of a comeback and at last Pandya and tilak finished the innings as soon as possible to boost their NRR which could be quite helpful for them in the later stages of the Tournament considering the kind of start they had in this Tournament again.
