Yuzvendra Chahal has been Team India’s best spinner in T20IS. Despite his track record in the shortest format of the game, he was not included in the ICC T20 World Cup squad.
He bowled exceptionally well in the second leg of the IPL in UAE but the selectors once again snubbed him in the modified squad for the global event.
After India’s below-par display in the ICC tournament, he was recalled for the T20I series against New Zealand.
After sitting out of the first two games, he was included in the Playing XI for the final and last T20I. When Rohit Sharma was asked about Yuzvendra Chahal, the new skipper praised the champion spinner.
“Yuzvendra Chahal has been a champion bowler for us over the years”.
