R Ashwin hits out at Hardik Pandya for his loose statement after series defeat against West Indies

India were recently at the helm of criticism after the Hardik Pandya-led side suffered a 2-3 series defeat against West Indies. After the loss, Hardik Pandya also hogged the internet after he remarked that losing a series here or there in hindsight won’t make a difference and that sometimes losing is also good.

Hardik’s remarks did not go well with the fans, and in the latest events, R Ashwin has also taken an indirect dig at Hardik Pandya. Ashwin, who was not a part of the white-ball series against West Indies, quoted MS Dhoni, and how the former India skipper once told him that the ones who learn after a victory go on to become champions.

“MS Dhoni and a few other coaches once shared a very valuable lesson with me. They said, ‘When you lose, you learn so many things. But the people who learn after they win, go on become champions.’”

Ashwin further defended the youngsters and hit back at the critics. “I am not backing anybody, but going to West Indies is challenging. There are some innate secrets, which only the locals know more than the visiting players, especially if there are young.”
