India has done a phenomenal job in the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2025, winning the tournament without losing a single match!
Group Stage:
India began their campaign with a solid victory against Bangladesh and followed it up with a dominant win over Pakistan—a team they love to beat in ICC events! Virat Kohli delivered a spectacular century, his 82nd international hundred, once again proving his dominance against Pakistan.
Next up was New Zealand, a team that has troubled India in past ICC tournaments. Many thought this might be India’s first loss, but the Men in Blue displayed their resilience. The bowlers put up a clinical performance, and India continued their unbeaten streak, finishing the group stage on top.
Semi-Final:
India faced a strong Australian side in the semi-finals. Australia has always been a powerhouse in ICC events, but India was in no mood to back down. Virat Kohli played another brilliant knock, though he narrowly missed his 83rd century. However, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya ensured a smooth chase, guiding India to victory and securing their spot in the finals.
Final vs New Zealand:
India took on New Zealand in the grand finale. The bowlers set the tone early, with Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel restricting New Zealand to just 251 runs in 50 overs.
In response, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a fantastic start, almost sealing the match with their partnership. Though Virat Kohli couldn’t contribute much in the final, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul finished the chase in style, securing a comfortable victory for India.
India’s Historic Achievement:
With this win, India lifted their third Champions Trophy title and secured back-to-back ICC trophies! This was also India’s first ICC title under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir.
A truly unforgettable campaign for Team India! 🏆🇮🇳
